Our Story

The BSG story began in 1985 when a young muso from Adelaide moved to Brisbane and took on a sales role at Smithy’s Staging & PA on Roma Street.  With a passion for the industry and ambition to burn, this muso took a chance and relished the opportunity to purchase the business just 6 months later.   Trading as Brisbane Concert Sound, the business was originally just focusing on the second-hand sales and hire market, cementing itself into the Brisbane live music scene.

 In 1990 the business moved from Roma Street to Fortitude Valley, and as we expanded into other areas including repairs and installation, we relocated to a larger premises in Bowen Hills.  In 2004, the building became a victim of the inner-city bypass development, and now the business affectionately known as Brisbane Sound Group moved down the road to a central location.  With a strong and increasing foothold in sales, hire, service and installation, the decision to expand into production on a larger scale was made. 

 

Now specialising in Sound, Lighting and Vision, a second premises was required to house the production department.  In 2016 however, we were fortunate to find our forever home in Northgate, and now have all of our departments under one roof.  BSG is now a true one stop shop for our customers.

 

However, more importantly than where we are is who we are.

 

Brisbane Sound Group is recognised as one of the premier providers to the entertainment, government, education, church and presentation industry within Brisbane, South-East Queensland and beyond.

 

Our approach to our current business structure and strategic direction is holistic, ensuring we continue to offer a complete solution to the client through competitive sales, hire, service and installation services.  This is backed by our experienced staff and service offerings.  With most of our staff being a part of the BSG family for more than 10 years, it brings with it a wealth of real world industry experience and knowledge. 

 

Brisbane Sound Group are adaptable and intuitive when it comes to working within a budget to achieve maximum results.   BSG prides itself on its "no fuss" attitude to adapting to the clients' needs.  We don't have an agenda, and we relish in the opportunity to partner with our clients to achieve the desired outcome.
