The KH 870 II AES67 advances beyond its predecessor by enhancing acoustic quality and incorporating additional features. Equipped with two innovative 10” long-throw woofers featuring Extremely Linear Force Factor (ELFF™) technology and sophisticated protection limiters, it delivers remarkably low distortion even when operating at peak sound pressure levels.

The KH 870 II AES67 expands low-frequency response down to 16 Hz and provides nearly double the output compared to the KH 810 II. This makes it an ideal partner for midfield monitors like the KH 420.

The KH 870 II AES67 features DSP control for enhanced audio performance and smooth integration via the MA 1 Automatic Monitor Alignment system (sold separately). When paired with analog Neumann monitors such as the KH 120 A (discontinued), KH 310, or KH 420, it provides ample DSP capacity to calibrate an entire stereo, surround, or immersive setup up to 7.1.4 channels using MA 1, optimizing both frequency response and phase alignment. It also complements Neumann’s latest DSP-enabled monitors perfectly. In immersive and surround configurations, combining analog and DSP-equipped speakers with MA 1 Multichannel Extension (sold separately) enables comprehensive room alignment. Thus, the KH 870 II AES67 serves not only as a subwoofer but as an essential upgrade and expansion tool for advanced audio systems.

Equipped with redundant AES67 connectivity, this subwoofer offers a comprehensive solution for incorporating your entire loudspeaker system into an Audio over IP network. The KH 870 II AES67 can process up to 12 channels of network audio directly through the subwoofer, while supporting up to 11 studio monitors via its analog and digital outputs.

Precision in Every Detail

Designed for floor placement, the subwoofer’s drivers are safeguarded by a durable grille to prevent accidental damage. Its sturdy cabinet incorporates a precisely engineered bass reflex system, optimized to deliver tight bass with virtually inaudible port noise.

The subwoofer includes two analog XLR inputs and outputs for stereo connectivity. For multichannel setups, it provides two Sub D25 connectors for analog connections and seven AES3 BNC outputs to support up to 11 studio monitors digitally. All analog inputs and outputs are electronically balanced, and the AES3 BNC outputs are compatible with Neumann studio monitors’ S/P-DIF inputs when using a BNC to RCA cable.

Featuring two network ports for redundant AES67 audio-over-IP connectivity supporting up to 12 input channels, the KH 870 II AES67 functions as a hub that receives multichannel audio and distributes it throughout the system via analog or AES3 (BNC) outputs to as many as 11 additional speakers, incorporating its internal bass management.

The KH 870 II AES67 is ideal for music production, film scoring, broadcast, and post-production studios involved in tracking, mixing, and mastering. Its innovative power amplifier design delivers outstanding audio quality alongside high energy efficiency. The Auto Standby feature can be disabled through the MA 1 app for greater control.
