IK ARC Studio Standalone Professional Acoustic Correction Solution
Description
In the field of audio engineering, using plugins on the master bus of digital audio workstations (DAWs) to correct room acoustics has been common practice.
However, this approach has notable drawbacks, such as the need to manually disable the plugin before exporting audio and the inability to use the correction outside of the DAW. IK Multimedia pioneered the industry with ARC (Advanced Room Correction) system, setting a standard in room correction technology. Despite its innovative contribution, traditional console-based music studios and modern digital broadcasting facilities still face challenges in accessing room correction with plugin-only solutions. To overcome these issues, we designed ARC Studio, a game changing compact hardware audio processor that seamlessly integrates with every existing audio setup. The goal has been to encapsulate the quality and precision of the ARC room correction into a simple and transparent sounding audio processor.
THE ARC SYSTEM
ARC System is made of ARC Studio hardware device, a measurement microphone and a software package.
The software package includes:
- An analysis standalone application used to measure the acoustics of the room
- A real-time, multi-platform plug-in to be used with any DAW
- A standalone control application to store the correction into the ARC Studio processor
ARC STUDIO
- Dramatically improve your mixing accuracy with any monitor system in any room
- Installs in minutes in any studio
- Sonically invisible, audiophile performance
- Emulates top monitors & playback systems
- Customize your monitors’ performance to taste
Customise your monitors
Customise your setup for ideal performance no matter your preference.
ARC Studio offers deep control over each profile so it always sounds its best:
Target curves
The system comes with 9 factory target curves for most situations. The default curve offers optimally balanced results with other specific curves for different needs or setups.
Adjustable correction range
By default, ARC corrects the entire frequency spectrum, but you can define upper and lower limits to preserve the unique voicing of your monitors or just address a certain frequency range.
Variable resolution and smoothing
Adjust the resolution of the correction filter to use more or fewer frequency bands to achieve more surgical correction, or a broader, smoother balance.
2 Phase Modes
Natural and Linear phase modes ensure precise stereo imaging.
Natural mode improves phase response, while linear phase maintains the original inter-channel phase.
For Every Studio
- Compact digital room correction processor
- High-end audio conversion
- Full-range correction for any kind of audio production

- Emulate common “real-world” playback systems
Performance and Features
- Premium AD and DA conversion, total sonic transparency
- 120 dB dynamic range, ultra-low THD and jitter
- Natural or linear phase correction
- Set upper/lower frequency correction limits
- Up to 9 target curves to fine tune the in-room response
ARC 4 CONTROL SOFTWARE
The Analysis application guides the user through the measurement of the room acoustics effectively turning a complex process that would require a skilled acoustical engineer into something very easy than anybody can perform in minutes, choosing between an Advanced Mode with 21 measurements points based on 3 different measurement layers or a Quick Mode with just 7 measurement points.
Once the measurement is completed, the software generates a correction profile that will be later applied by the plug-in when instantiated on the user’s DAW main output, or stored to the ARC Studio processor.
The correction can be personalised with several options in order to best fit the various uses cases, various types of rooms and, of course, user’s taste.
- All-new more natural correction algorithm
- New Standalone application to manage ARC Studio
- Expanded virtual monitoring adds 20+ iconic studio monitors profiles
- New “Quick Mode” in the Analysis application
- Updated graphics and user interface with dark and light mode options
ARC Studio can be reloaded instantly with new settings using ARC 4 software, which now features a monitor emulation function. Transform you monitoring system into iconic studio monitors, plus popular hi-fi speakers and mobile devices, with breathtakingly true-to-life results, accurately reproducing the frequency and phase response of the originals.
Includes monitor emulations
With over 20 profiles included in ARC 4, a single pair of monitors now lets you test your mix on different reference systems quickly, without ever having to head to your car or buy additional pairs of monitors!
The ARC of success
With updateable firmware, ARC Studio offers a future-proof solution that you can rely on for years to come, as your studio grows and evolves.
