The Sennheiser MKH 8018 Stereo Shotgun Mic offers exceptional flexibility with its switchable MS, XY-narrow, and XY-wide modes. Its MS mode allows for independent mid and side signals, enabling adjustments to the stereo image in post-production or on-site with a matrix mixer. Additionally, the versatile mic features two internally matrixed modes for traditional left-right stereo, eliminating the need for external mixers. Users can also select between a wide LR-W pattern with greater ambient pickup or a narrow LR-N pattern for improved rejection and less ambiance in varying acoustic environments.
